He suggested to send it in so they could go thru the pistol for me. The rep reiterated to shoot NO +P ammo thru it and I agreed. I called Colt and the rep agreed that Colt would still service this pistol with whatever parts Colt had still available.
I wonder if Colt would look at it, (go thru the pistol), for me? Or since it's no longer supported would even asking them to be a dead end? What issues was your pistol experiencing? Was it having timing problems? Otherwise, you could have a gun you love to carry but can't trust anymore. So I would NOT shoot +p's through it unless I called Colt first and found out what they say. Since you bought the gun used you have no way of knowing how many +p's have gone down range or if it was ever sent back to Colt.

My guess is I exceeded that 1000 round plus p limit (OK I know I did, qualifying four times a year with 25-30 rounds of ammo alone exceeded that limit.).
